At the stroke of midnight of the August 15, 1947, India shook off the shackles of British Rule and became free. It was a night of celebration all over the country. The Independence Day of any country is a moment of pride and glory. India is celebrating its 63rd year of Independence.  On this special occasion, Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Thiruvananthapuram paid tribute to the nation by organizing a function in front of the college in which Dr.K.V.K.Reddy,Assoct.Professor  hoisted the flag and delivered the Independence day message. Students from different classes also participated with patriotic songs and speeches.
