| 1. > BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (BPE) | | ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Physical Education shall be required i) to have completed the age of 17 years on the first day of July of the year of admission to the Course. ii) to have passed the +2 or HSC examination or an examination accepted by the Academic Council as equivalent there to or S.S.L.C or equivalent examination with a certificate in Physical Education of at least two years’ duration from a recognized institution of physical education. Provided, however, that candidates who are between the age limits of 17 and 21 years and who are otherwise qualified shall be eligible for admission to the course of study leading to BPE degree. Provided, further, that the upper age limit for admission to the BPE Degree Course may be relaxed to 23 years on the first day of July of the year of admission in the case of those who have participated in competitions conducted by AIU, National Sports Federations, School Games Federation of India and International bodies in games and sports included in the college curriculum . iii) The reserved candidates (SC/ST) will be given age relaxation as per university rules. | ADMISSION TESTS | | A. Physical Fitness Test AAHPER Youth Fitness Test comprising the following items to assess physical fitness. 1. Pull-ups (Boys) / Flexed-arm Hang (Girls) 2. Flexed-leg Sit-ups for one minute 3. Shuttle Run (30ft X 4) 4. Standing Broad Jump 5. 50-Yard Dash 6. 600- Yard Run | Note: This is a qualifying test. Those who fail to secure 50% of the composite score of 60 points of the test battery shall not be eligible for further testing. | | B. Academic Test (i) Test in General Knowledge and English. (50 marks) Note: Candidates who secure less than 40% marks will not be eligible for further testing. | C. Game/Sport Playing Ability Test (50 marks) Each candidate will be required to opt one game/sport of his/her choice for assessment, out of the games/sports included in the schedule of I.O.A or Association of Indian Universities, Sports Division. However, the College reserves the right to delete any game/sport from the list on administrative considerations. Note: Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in this test. | The merit for admission shall be reckoned on the basis of total marks obtained by a candidate in tests B and C subject to a minimum of 50% of the combined total (100 marks). |  |
2. > MASTER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION (MPE) | ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS Subject to the procedure laid down a candidate shall be admitted to the first year of the Master of Physical Education Course provided he/she has obtained, (a) A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with atleast 50% aggregate marks from a University - Indian or Foreign - recognized for the purpose by the University of Kerala. OR (b) A Bachelor’s degree with Degree(BPEd)/Diploma in Physical Education (DPEd) of atleast one year duration with 50% aggregate marks, awarded by an Indian University or a Board duly appointed by the Education Department of the State/ Union territory. OR (c) Indian or foreign qualification(s) recognized as equivalent to those mentioned in (a) and (b) above by the University of Kerala, provided, further, that the candidate should be in the age limit of 20-25as on 1st July of the year of admission. Note: i) Relaxation to the extent of 5% marks in aggregate will be given to outstanding sports persons who have represented the country in Asian Games/Commonwealth Games/Olympic Games or those who have secured first, second or third place at Senior National/Junior National/National games or at All India Intervarsity Competitions in the sport disciplines recognized by the Indian Olympic Association/Association of Indian Universities in the preceding three academic Years. ii) The reserved candidates (SC/ST) will be given age relaxation as per university rules. | ADMISSION TESTS | (A) Written Test :- A written test of 2 hours’ duration to assess general knowledge, general mental ability and theoretical knowledge in the subjects studied at BPE level.(100 marks) (Minimum marks to be secured is 40%) | (B) Physical Fitness Test- AAHPER Youth Fitness Test comprising the following items to assess physical fitness. 1. Pull-ups (Boys) / Flexed-arm Hang (Girls)2. Flexed-leg Sit-ups for one minute 3. Shuttle Run (30ft X 4) 4. Standing Broad Jump 5. 50-Yard Dash 6. 600- Yard Run Note: This is a qualifying test. Those who fail to secure 50% of the composite score of 60 points of the test battery shall not be eligible for further testing. | (C) Test in one game/sport (50 marks) (Minimum marks to be secured is 50%) The game/sport opted by the candidate for testing should be out of the schedule of I.O.A/Association of Indian Universities Sports Division. However, the college reserves the right to delete any game/sport from the list on administrative considerations. | | Note: A candidate should obtain at least 50% of the total marks to be eligible for admission to the Course. |  |
3.POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN HEALTH AND FITNESS MANAGEMENT (PGDHFM) | ELIGIBILTY CONDITIONS Subject to the procedure laid down for admission, a candidate shall be eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Fitness Management Course provided he/she has obtained, a) A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education of a University - Indian or foreign - recognized for the purpose by the University of Kerala. OR b) A Bachelor’s Degree with degree (BPEd)/Diploma in Physical Education (DPEd) of at least one-year duration awarded by an Indian University or a Board duly appointed by the Education Department of the State/Centre. OR c) Indian or foreign qualification(s) recognized as equivalent to those mentioned at (a) and (b) above by the University of Kerala provided, further, that the upper age limit for admission to the course will be 30 years on 1st July of the year of admission. | Note: i) Age may be relaxed by five years for in-service teachers if they otherwise qualify in the admission tests. ii) The reserved candidates (SC/ST) will be given age relaxation as per university rules | ADMISSION TESTS | (A) Physical Fitness Test: AAHPER Youth Fitness Test comprising the followingitems to assess physical fitness. 1. MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY (M.Phil)   | ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONSTo seek admission to M.Phil Degree Course, a candidate should have a) Passed Master of Physical Education Degree course (M.PE/MPEd) with a minimum of 55% marks recognised for the purpose by the University of Kerala. b) Physical fitness to undergo physical activities daily. He/She should have no physical or mental disabilities that prevent him from actively participating in Physical Education Programme. c) The candidate should be in the age limit of 21-26 as on Ist July of the year of admission. | | ADMISSION TEST | (A) Written Test: A written test of 2 hours’ duration to assess general knowledge and theoretical knowledge from the subjects studied at post-graduate level. (100 marks) Note:1. Those who fail to secure 50% marks in the written test will not be eligible for further testing. 2. Only 50% of the marks secured in the written test shall be reckoned for preparing the merit list. | (B) Physical Fitness Test: AAHPER Youth Fitness Test comprising the following items will be used to assess physical fitness.1.
